When decorating, lighting sometimes takes a back foot in the design process. Furniture, textiles, flooring, colours, walls, accents, and other décor items, although important, still needs one important element to make it come to life. To shine, in other words (was that a pun?)

Natural light is always the most important lighting, but in the evenings the importance of lighting comes to light (Ok, that was definitely a pun)

Main lighting, from ceiling pendants or downlights is considered first. But then other lighting options must not be forgotten. Task lights for reading or working areas, and softer lighting from wall sconces or table lamps help to bring ambiance to a room. This is what truly brings the room finally together.

It is almost like when you dress yourself. Shoes are as important as flooring in a room. But lighting is the jewellery of your home.
