Up-cycle Light

We recently did an interesting project with a discarded bicycle wheel rim, that we turned into a beautiful chandelier.

The chandelier was for an outside entertainment area lighting solution.

The area needed something to soften the space, with a bit of rustic flair. An old discarded bicycle rim was on site and I immediately decided that this old rim will be the perfect base for a chandelier.

Next, I designed a few options and then one was chosen as the best for what we needed.

Natural wood beads were chosen in 2 different sizes and beaded all around to make a double layer of beads in different lengths. Phew, it was a lot of beading, but so much fun to see it progress.

And suddenly the ugly wheel rim was a gorgeous chandelier. Ready to light the entertainment area of the home it was intended for.
